You Know You Live In A Country Run By Idiots If….

…A Muslim Army officer crying “Allah Akbar” while shooting up an army base and killing 13 soldiers is considered to have committed “Workplace Violence” while an American citizen boasting a Ron Paul bumper sticker is classified as a “Domestic Terrorist”.

….You can get arrested for expired tags on your car but not for being in the country illegally.

….Your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more of our money.

….A seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for calling his teacher “cute” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable.

….The Supreme Court of the United States can rule that lower courts cannot display the 10 Commandments in their courtroom, while sitting in front of a display of the 10 Commandments.

….Children are forcibly removed from parents who appropriately discipline them while children of “underprivileged” drug addicts are left to rot in filth infested cesspools.

….Working class Americans pay for their own health care (and the health care of everyone else) while unmarried women are free to have child after child on the “State’s” dime ($six figures) while never being held responsible for their own choices (incentive to breed built into system).

….Hard work and success are rewarded with higher taxes and government intrusion, while slothful, lazy behavior is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid and subsidized housing, and free cell phones.

….The government’s plan for getting people back to work is to provide 99 weeks of unemployment checks (to not work).

….Being self-sufficient is considered a threat to the government.

….Politicians think that stripping away the amendments to the constitution is really protecting the rights of the people.

….The rights of the Government come before the rights of the individual.

….Parents believe the State is responsible for providing for their children.

….You pay your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big screen TV while your neighbor defaults on his mortgage (while buying iPhones, TV’s and new cars) and the government forgives his debt and reduces his mortgage (with your tax dollars).

….Your government can add anything they want to your kid’s water (fluoride, chlorine, etc.) but you are not allowed to give them raw milk.

….Being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you “safe”.

….You have to have your parents signature to go on a school field trip but not to get an abortion.

….An 80 year old woman can be strip searched by the TSA but a Muslim woman in a burka is only subject to having her neck and head searched.

The Final Word On The ObamaTax Automobile Insurance Comparison

Under ObamaCare, the Individual Mandate forcing everyone to buy insurances or pay a penalty was upheld as a ‘tax’ by the Supreme Court.   We’ll call it the ObamaTax.  So, naturally, the progs are once again trotting out the comparison of the ObamaTax Individual Mandate to the State requirements that automobile owners / drivers purchase and keep Automobile Insurance.

How could it be any different?

Simple, Mr. Progressive.  I’ll ask one simple question.

Do you believe that every person in Washington DC, Chicago and New York that does not own a car should be required to purchase and keep Automobile Insurance?

No?!?

Well, that’s the difference.  The difference for the ObamaTax Individual Mandate is that it requires those people to buy health insurance… …sadly not to insure themselves, but to pay for the Healthcare Spending of other Americans.

So, stop your lame apples to oranges comparison to try to explain your Unconstitutional Law.  It ain’t workin’.

Blunt Supports…

…everything the Healthcare Mandate was going to pay for, but not the Healthcare Mandate?!?

Michelle Malkin called out Senator Blunt:

(h/t TPM) GOP Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri, vice chair of the Senate GOP Conference, told a St. Louis radio station two weeks ago that he supports keeping at least three ObamaCare regulatory pillars:

  • Federally imposed coverage of “children” up to age 26 on their parents’ health insurance policies (the infamous, unfunded “slacker mandate”)
  • Federally mandated coverage regardless of pre-existing conditions (“guaranteed issue,” which turns the very concept of insurance on its head and leads to an adverse-selection death spiral)
  • Closure of the coverage gap in the massive Bush-backed Medicare drug entitlement (the “donut hole fix” that will obliterate the program’s cost-controls)

So, how are we going to pay for this Senator Blunt?  Sunshine and fairy farts?

Read more on Talking Points Memo.

If enacting the 3 main pillars of ObamaCare is the Republican’s main solution should the Supreme Court strike down the mandate, why are they even joining the fight?

Clearly, nothing has been learned from the 2006 / 2008 shellacking and the 2010 salvaging of the Republican Party compliments of the Tea Party Movement.  It’s still a party of milquetoast moderate solutions that will continue to bankrupt our country, create bigger government (albeit at a slower pace than Liberals), and destroy the fabric of what made America great… …the expectation that you go out and work for what you need and want.

NOBODY is talking about the real solution… …getting the Employer out of the Health Care business.  Yes, cross-state-line purchases, HSAs, and removal of 1st-dollar payments will help.  But, a huge portion of the problem is that the Employer is so involved in the Health Care business.

Under the current system, really only one person has to be satisfied with the Health Care Plan being offered to the company’s employees: the VP of Human Resources.  If he or she is happy (after getting laid, tickets to the finest suites of every professional sports venue, golf outings, boat outings, and gala dinners — trust me, I’ve seen it), then the Employer chooses their plan.  Maybe it’s the best of the three plans that the VP of HR had time to take a look at, but is it the best for 100% of the employees?  Of course not.

The government got the Employer into the Health Care business with wage and price controls during World War II and on occasion beyond.  They’ve got to get them out of the picture, so Health Care Companies work to keep their actual customer (the employee) happy — not Senior Management.

Then a market-based health-care exchange would make sense.  Ever heard of Kayak?  Priceline?  Oribtz?  Hotels.com?  Apparently, the free market can build a system where you can compare rates for travel cheaply and efficiently.  There’s no reason a free-market Health Insurance Exchange couldn’t do the same.

Then, the Employer can offer funding of a Health Care Plan… …and stay out of the CHOICE of a Health Care Plan.  The Employee is then responsible for choosing the best plan from a menu of options.  He or she can decide if they want to have the Appendectomy insured, or know that it costs $1500.00 (or whatever) and be prepared to pay for it.

If they choose not to have insurance, the Employer keeps the money… …and probably looks to hire someone more responsible.  But, the Employee now has the best option to find the most suitable Health Care solution for his or her personal situation.

That, my liberal Republican friend, Mr. Blunt, is a good starting point for Health Care reform.

The 2012 Party Of ‘NO!’

It’s a pretty simple question, Justices.

Would the American People change the Constitution to explicitly allow the (limited) government of the people, by the people, and for the people to force them to buy a product under penalty of taxation OR law?

The answer, is a resounding, NO!

I’m definitely a member of that Party of ‘NO!’

Five Obamacare Broken Promises

From the Missouri Political News Service:

The sad truth is that even with this irrefutable evidence that Obamacare is and will be a disaster, the Kool Aid drinkers will still believe this plan is good for them.

PROMISE #1: ‘If You Like Your Plan, You’ll Be Able To Keep It’

PRESIDENT OBAMA: “If you like your current plan, you will be able to keep it. Let me repeat that: if you like your plan, you’ll be able to keep it.” (President Obama, Remarks At The White House, Washington, D.C., 7/21/09)

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL: “The law could leave more than half of employers without a grandfathered plan in 2013, the draft estimated. Its worst-case assumption is that 80% of small-employers will lose grandfathered rights by 2013. New plans would have to comply with all the bill’s requirements; grandfathered plans could avoid elements such as limits on cost sharing.” (“Draft Health Rules Set Hurdles,” The Wall Street Journal, 6/12/10)

PROMISE #2: ‘I Will Protect Medicare’

More Than $200 Billion In Cuts To Medicare Advantage

“Medicare Advantage Payments… -131.9 [Billion Dollars].” “TITLE III—Improving The Quality And Efficiency Of Health Care; Subtitle C—Provisions Relating to Part C; Medicare Advantage Payments… 2010-2019… -131.9 [Billion Dollars].” (CBO Director Doug Elmendorf, Letter To Rep. Pelosi, P.13, 3/18/10)

“Medicare Advantage Interactions… -70.4 [Billion Dollars].” “Interactions; Medicare Advantage Interactions… 2010-2019… -70.4 [Billion Dollars].” (CBO Director Doug Elmendorf, Letter To Rep. Pelosi, P.18, 3/18/10)

CBO: Medicare cuts could “reduce access to care or diminish the quality of care.” (CBO Director Doug Elmendorf, Letter To Sen. Harry Reid, P. 1, 17, 11/18/09)

PRESIDENT OBAMA: “So don’t pay attention to those scary stories about how your benefits will be cut … that will not happen on my watch. I will protect Medicare.” (President Obama, Remarks To Joint Session Of Congress, 9/9/09)

PROMISE # 3 ‘This Law Will Lower Premiums’

PRESIDENT OBAMA: “Families will save on their premiums.” (President Obama, Remarks After Meeting With Senate Democrats, 12/15/09)

CBO: The Law Will Increase Premiums On Families By $2,100 Per Year

CBO: “Average premiums per policy in the nongroup market in 2016 would be roughly $5,800 for single policies and $15,200 for family policies under the proposal, compared with roughly $5,500 for single policies and $13,100 for family policies under current law. The weighted average of the differences in those amounts equals the change of 10 percent to 13 percent in the average premium per person…” (Emphasis In Original; CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf, Letter To Sen. Bayh, P. 6, 11/30/09)

WALL STREET JOURNAL: “The health-insurance premiums paid by employers rose sharply this year, with the average annual cost of family coverage passing the $15,000 mark for the first time, according to a major survey.” (“Employer Health Premiums Rise Sharply,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/27/11)

Kinder Must Go?

On 8/26/11, The Missouri Record (MR) blog published a post entitled “Kinder Must Go”.

The assertion is intially based on the claim by a Penthouse Pet, stripper, and pantless bar waitress that Peter Kinder behaved inappropriately.  Like millions of American males, Kinder frequented a strip club, and now, he finds himself involved in a he-said/she-said situation.

So, based on that, Kinder Must Go.

Then, a GOP supporter and major donor tells Politico that he (the donor) is so principled and supportive of the Republican Party, that if Kinder runs for governor, he will support Jay Nixon who belongs to and supports the party that defends the murder of a million unborn humans per year.

So, based on that, Kinder Must Go.

Then, according to the MR post, Politico reports that the Missouri State GOP may pull support for Kinder.  The Missouri State GOP denies the claim by Politico.

So, based on that, Kinder Must Go.

The Missouri Record reports that Kinder’s campaign sees a Left Wing Rag Magazine pumping an unsubstantiated story from a Penthouse Pet, stripper, and pantless bar waitress as a Democrat ploy to distract from the failed record of the current Democrat Governor.

So, based on that, Kinder Must Go.

Without citing any poll, we read that Kinder “was never in danger of actually defeating Governor Nixon”

So, based on that, Kinder Must Go.

Then, we must be concerned that, a few days before the election, the opposition might run ads that lie about Kinder as a Republican Gubernatorial Candidate.

So, based on that, Kinder Must Go.

Of course he must go.  He must martyr himself as a politician and take the “opportunity to write his own political epilogue.”  He should take all the accomplishments of his political career, put them on a tombstone, and retire into anonymity.

h/t tombstonebuilder.com

Uh. No.

Just like we’ve been expected to take Barack Obama at his word that he is a Christian (despite all the evidence to the contrary), we better damn well be ready to take Peter Kinder at his word.  Kinder is not accused of nor has had to admit anything illegal like smoking pot or using cocaine — unlike our President.

And, Kinder is not the subject of a Missouri Auditor law suit.  The Missouri (yes Republican) Auditor has filed suit against Governor Nixon for illegally reducing expenditures where he glaringly REDUCED BUDGETS FOR REPUBLICANS BUT NOT DEMOCRATS!

Kinder was twice audited by Democrat Missouri Auditors with no findings of fault, and when later accused of travel improprieties, he made immediate restitution at the mere air of such a concern.

Nixon, as soon as he was inaugurated, put the keibosh on the Matt Blunt E-Mail Scandal after using it as campaign fodder to get elected.  Blunt and co-accused Ed Martin were more than ready to have the details aired out, but Nixon closed the investigation.

Although he said, “I think I have a record over 25 years that’s supported workers, that’s supported individual rights, that clearly believes strongly in the rights … of minorities,” Jay Nixon has been mute as Peter Kinder fought to stop the undermining of Missourian’s individual rights under Obamacare and hasn’t said word one about the travesty that is the TSA attack on our 4th amendment rights.

Jay Nixon has now called a special legislative session (costing taxpayers thousands) to push the Aerotropolis boondoggle that will reward donors with taxpayer money in a outrageous example of crony capitalism.

Nixon ignored the opportunity to capitalize on the exodus of businesses from Illinois after their massive Income Tax increases while Governors from Indiana and Wisconsin courted businesses and individuals to consider their states for planting new roots.

Nixon rejected legislation that would have required many voters to display government-issued photo identification when they cast ballots.

And, Nixon ‘led from behind’ by allowing the abortion restrictions to go into effect without his signature.  Certainly more restrictions on abortions are necessary, but such an issue should be led by the Governor — not an “it’s in my pocket” approval.

Certainly Kinder, with the record below (highlighted by the Missouri Record), would never be able to mount a successful challenge in light of the above…

Kinder, in the partial birth abortion bill of 1997, he worked to override the governor’s veto.
Kinder was also instrumental in passing Missouri’s concealed-carry law.
Kinder’s lawsuit in opposition to the President’s health care reform has been joined by officials in dozens of states.
And most importantly, Kinder has worked successfully to bridge the urban/rural divide in Missouri politics

Pack it in Peter Kinder; you must “Go”

The Missouri Record may be right; I may be wrong. But, to call for Kinder to take a dive is, likely, putting the knock-out before the punch.

Democrats And Obama Want To Kill Old People

The latest meme of the Obama perpetual presidential campaign is that Republicans want to get rid of Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid… …and kill old people.

That campaign slogan is scary and it works.  Polls are abounding that 70% of Americans don’t want Congress to reduce benefits of the Big 3.

Yet, there is not one Republican proposal that affects anyone currently on those programs.  As a matter of fact, the Ryan Budget Proposal gives Americans the SAME health care options enjoyed by Federal Government Workers and only people under 57 (or 50 depending on the plan) will be affected by the changes Ryan proposes.

The only plan that does kill old people is the Democrats lack of change to the 3rd rail of politics. More-of-the-same will ensure that seniors will die when the country can no longer pay for their entitlements.  You cannot pay for the $100 Trillion in unfunded entitlements with an Eat The Rich campaign!  Period.

h/t www.flagsclipart.net

But, as usual, the Republicans don’t get it and are losing the messaging campaign.  So, here are three tag lines that Tea Partiers, Republicans and Conservatives can/must use:

  • Democrats and Obama Want To Kill Old People
  • GOP Pushes To Give Seniors Same Retirement As Federal Workers
  • Conservative Plan Will Save Your Retirement (from Democrats)

Of course, you need to have the facts to discuss the issue when questioned, but it’s in the 1st 10 words that the message gets out.  A paragraph of explanation is lost in the haze of Car Pools, Lunch Plans, and Gas Price Worry.

And, the important part?  Tea Partiers, Republicans and Conservatives can/must drive home these consistent themes every time they get in front of a crowd, camera, microphone, or computer.

Challenging Governor Walker

AFP launched a website called Stand With Walker in support of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

“Americans for Prosperity today launched www.StandwithWalker.com where citizen activists from across the country can show support for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s common sense reform to end union collective bargaining and tackle the state’s nearly $4 billion deficit.”

I’ve never seen the $4 Billion figure, but I’ve seen $3.12 Billion over the next two years. Please Stand with Scott Walker as this issue and its resolution will be a turning point for America – towards freedom or further entrenched socialism.

http://hellinahandbasket.net/

The Rockin’ Conservative could not agree more that it is time for the States to deal strongly with people – be it unions, welfare recipients, or other administrative / elected personnel – who make their living off the taxpayer’s dollars.

Subsisting on the taxpayer’s dime is a CHOICE.  If you want to be a teacher and don’t want to work for the State, teach at a parochial or private school.  If you want to take the taxpayers money because you are down on your luck, prove that you’re worthy by submitting to drug testing.  If you want to serve your State or Country as an elected official or other administrator, don’t plan on getting rich!  Plan on earning what the average American earns, plan on providing for your retirement like the average American, and plan on providing for your healthcare like the average American.

But, in order to expect the unions and others to make concessions, we must have expectations of the Republican leadership of Wisconsin.

Thus, we must Challenge Governor Scott Walker and the Republicans in the State Capitol to support at least a 5% reduction (preferably 10%) in salaries and benefits of all State Representatives, State Senators, the Governor himself, and all employees/bureaucrats at the State Capitol.

If you believe the unions should sacrifice, so should you!

Fear Of Death

It seems that there are two pretty distinct ‘divisions’ in the nation as we know it in 2011.  We have the do-gooders… …and everyone else.

  • The do-gooders tell you to reduce your intake of salt or they’ll have to get the government involved.
  • The do-gooders tell you to increase the MPG in the car you make and sell or they’ll have to get the government involved.
  • The do-gooders tell you to cut down on your fat intake or they’ll have to get the government involved.
  • The do-gooders tell you to wear a seat belt or they’ll have to get the government involved.
  • The do-gooders tell you to wear a helmet on your bicycle or motorcycle or we’ll have to get the government involved.
  • The do-gooders tell you to stop smoking or we’ll have to get the government involved.
  • The do-gooders tell you to eat fruits and vegetables or we’ll have to get the government involved.
  • The do-gooders tell your restaurant and you what size your portions should be or we’ll have to get the government involved.

On and on and on the do-gooders find a perfectly legal activity, decide its wrong, and fight to impose their will and their values on you… …well except for killing babies, but I digress.  Over and over, the do-gooders consult their experts and battle to compel changes on your life (liberty and freed0m).

Why? To what end are they trying to save you from salt, gas hogs, fat, unbuckled belts, head injuries, lung cancer, increased waistline, and portions so big it covers three meals? What motivates them? What us the underlying causal agent?

I think at least part of it is ‘Fear of Death’.  I have no statistical evidence or study to back up this assertion; it is simply an observation based on the types of people who are the do-gooders vs. the rest of us.

GuscleBerry.com

It is my opinion that these do-gooders are left of center – some very far left!  It is my opinion that in the portion of the populace so far left, you will find the most people who do not believe in God or do not have a firm belief in God and the after-life.

And, it is my hypothesis that the do-gooders fear a death (with no possibility of after-life) so much that they feel they need to save themselves and the citizenry from a certain early demise.

For the rest of us with a firm foundation in God and the after-life, we do not fear death.  We do not rush toward death, but we do not fear it nor do we feel the need to take outlandish steps to hinder its approach.

My great uncle Manuel smoked for 30 years and ate a bacon sandwich for breakfast and lunch every day.  He partook of alcohol, drove a gas delivery truck, got struck by lightning, and fished from a rickety john-boat.  His wife died when he was 86, and he would have gladly gone with her.  He lived to the ripe old age of 102 and died in 2004.  Did he need the help of the do-gooders?  No, he lived a wonderful life.

So, my caring do-gooders, please heed my advice.  God watches over you and your soul is part of Him.  He will take your soul back to be with him.  Do not fear death; welcome it at its appropriate time.  God created skinny and fat people.  God created people to live happy and healthy and people who will be damaged and hurt.

Do-gooders, you cannot undo God’s Creation. I disagree that all Men were created Equal.  We were Created by God with Equal Rights – not with equal abilities our outcomes.  Instead of enforcing your fears on all of us, care for those that really do need your help.

Otherwise, leave us alone.

Harry’s Bitch

Apparently, Harry Reid thinks the House is his bitch.  Someone might want to tell him that the House has every bit as much power as the Senate!  If a bill passes the Senate and doesn’t pass the House, we have the same effect as if a bill passes the House and doesn’t pass the Senate.

In light of those thoughts, it might behoove Mr. Reid to give his ‘friends’ across the aisle — across the Capitol — their due and bring the ObamaCare Repeal Act to the floor of the Senate.  He might want to remember that Mr. Boehner has the same power to decide what comes to the House floor, and that he, Mr. Reid, might have some legislation that starts in the Senate that he’d like to see on the floor of the House.

Mr. Reid thinks he’s tough and Boehner is his bitch.

But, if the Republicans paid any attention to the VOTERS in November of 2010, Boehner better be 10x tougher than Dingy Harry thinks he is!
