708,000 More Unemployed In January = Dip In Unemployment Rate?

When I see BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics), why do I think BLS = Bulls**t?

This week, the Obama apologists in the Main Stream Media trumpeted the BLS report that the Unemployment Rate dipped to 8.3%.

Then, the new/real media (bloggers and Santelli ) started looking into the numbers and wondering why 1.2 Million Americans suddenly dropped out of the labor force.  Check here and here and here.

The bottom line is the answer to the question, “How many people are unemployed?”  And, in the Bureau of Labor Statistics own figures, you can find pretty easily (if you believe this number) that the number of Unemployed went UP by 708,000.

h/t bls.gov

As far as the masseuses and contortionists that converted an increase of 708,000 in unemployed Americans to a dip in the Unemployment Rate, “These are not the droids you are looking for.”

It’s The Tenth Commandment, Stupid!

Exodus: Chapter 20 Verse 17:

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

The verse, in Roman Catholic and Lutheran denominations, covers both the 9th and 10th commandment with “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house” being the 9th.

In 2008, I called it the “Envy Frenzy” — whipped up by the Consummate Campaigner to the point that poor unenlightened voters thought that The One would pay for their mortgage, their gas, their Christmas.

And that meme continues as the Campaigner-In-Chief embarks on his 2012 re-election campaign.  As if some modern day Robin Hood, ~ ‘There are people with more money than you; it is not fair that they have more money than you; you should want that money; you should crave that money; you should vote for me and I will take that money from them; I will run that money through a giant government bureaucracy; a pittance of that money will come to you; my friends in the unions, wall street, big government; green energy will get most of it; you and I are the 99% that are suffering because the rich have lots of money’

So, Onward goes the Fairness Soldier with the Mighty Shield of the Mainstream Media in his left hand and the Rod of Tax Enslavement in his right.  Adorned with the Crown of the Uninformeds’ Adulation, the Talons of Greediness, and a Breastplate of Chicago Corruptocrats, The One will Drain the Sea of Unfairness, Conquer the Equality of Opportunity to Enforce Equality of Outcome, Enrich the Poor in Spirit, and Destroy the Evil 1%.

All he needs is Four More Years and a little $45 Billion tax increase.  That’s it.  One more little tax increase and a Utopia of Fairness and Wealth will be unleashed on the American Electorate.

Hallelujah.  Vote!

h/t weaselzippers.us

Vote for me. I know you covet what the rich has.  Vote for me and I will take it from them.

Many have questioned whether or not Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim.  Many question his Christianity.

I don’t.

I absolutely know that if I executed a campaign that licensed greed, envy, and covetousness to win a political office, it would be an effort 100% lacking in Christianity.  Clearly, the same is true of Obama.

It’s the Tenth Commandment, Stupid!  A vote for Obama’s Campaign of Covetousness, is a vote of Sin.

CBO: The Federal Budget Infographic

I remind you again, that a great place to stay ahead-of-the-news on what’s coming down the pike for legislation is the CBO (www.cbo.gov).  Add yourself to their e-mail list!  I repeat.  Add yourself to their e-mail list!

Today’s release included an Infographic on The Budget, Spending, and Debt.  The graph at the bottom of the Infographic may be accurate, but it belies the truth that the Federal Government is $15 Trillion in Debt.  The GDP is $15 Trillion.  So, the Federal Debt is 100% of the GDP!

The Federal Debt is 100% of the GDP!

Below is a summary of the spending side of the Infographic.  Click on the image to display the entire Infographic.

315K Give Up Job Search

That’s the real headline from today’s unemployment report, but Mainstream Media is glorifying the news that the 315K that have given up looking for work causes the unemployment rate to go from 8.9% to 8.6%.

On the good news side, there were a net 120K jobs created in November, but it’s Christmastime.  Additionally, August and September job numbers were revised upwards.

But this news fizzles when the monthly job creation needed to keep up with population growth are 125K per month.

h/t worch.com

Let’s take a look at employment numbers comparing Bush’s two terms, 9/11, the advent of the Democrat Congress, and Obama’s first term.

A liberal would explain that the high employment rate of Bush years was a result of the policies of Bill Clinton, and the low employment rate of the Obama years is a result of the Bush policies.

I have always posed that the economy tanked largely when it became apparent that the Democrats had taken over Congress and were going to get the Presidency as well.  Business planners knew the high tax, high spending, regulation fiasco was on the horizon.

When it becomes apparent that Republicans Conservatives will re-take the Senate and the Presidency, watch for the economy to start soaring again.

Coulter On Cain

About that Cain affair… …it’s time to Show-Me.  Show me the texts.  If you have 61 texts from Herman Cain, show them to me.  Otherwise, shut up!  Show me the texts Ms. White, or shut up!

Show me some evidence Ms. Bialek! Your past is too scurrilous to take your word; show me some evidence.

And, Ms. Kraushaar, um, tell us something! You said he did something. He said he noticed you were short. If there’s something else, bring it out.

OTHERWISE SHUT UP!

Until then, Ann Coulter sums up the media hatchet job pretty well:

With the mainstream media giddily reporting on an alleged affair involving Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain, how long can it be before they break the news that their 2004 vice presidential candidate conceived a “love child” with his mistress, Rielle Hunter?

The left is trying to destroy Cain with a miasma of hazy accusations leveled by three troubled women. Considered individually, the accusations are utterly unbelievable. They are even less credible taken together. This is how liberals destroy a man, out of nothing.

After the first round of baseless accusations against Cain, an endless stream of pundits rolled out the cliche — as if it were the height of originality — “This isn’t he said-she said; it’s he-said, she-said, she-said, she-said, she–said.”

Au contraire: We had two “shes” and only one “said.”

More here from Coulter.

I previously wrote that my problem with Cain on this issue is what seems like a lack of preparation by Mr. Cain and his team.  However, assuming Cain’s wife knew about Ms. White, and there was no affair, I can see how this latest one came out of left field.

How about we get on to important issue, you know, like the White House Black Friday document dump.  If we yell enough about it, sooner or later the lamestream media will pay attention.

I’m The 1%

I own a business with earnings of $6.25 Billion per year.  I employ 4,992 production workers and 1,513 administrative personnel. There are 47 people in my corporation that make more than $1,000,000 per year.  The total St. Louis City payroll alone is $323 Million.  After expenses (including $423 Million in donations), the corporation pays $825 Million per year in Local, State, and Federal Taxes. I fly in a G5 Private Jet.  I drive a Maserati. I live in a 12,200sqft house that cost $3.2 Million to build.  I am the 1%.

I’ve watched outside my business offices and factories located in St. Louis Missouri, Oakland California, and Atlanta, Georgia as the so-called 99% have engaged in their Occupy Movements.  I’ve watched as all manner of illegal, criminal, and law-breaking activity has been committed in their encampments.  I have watched as the mayors of these cities have looked the other way, ignored the breaking of laws, and shirked their responsibility.

I watched as St. Louis representative of Mayor Slay, Jeff Rainford, sarcastically suggested that the Occupy Movement try to encamp in cities of Manchester, Ballwin, or Wentzville near to St. Louis (I think those were the three cities he listed).  Clearly, he was inferring that the law enforcement in such cities would not allow this law-breaking activity.

I’ve watched as all manner of elected Democrats – from freshmen House members and the DNC Party Chair to President Obama himself – have endorsed the criminal Occupy Wall Street movement and verbally thrashed the peaceful and respectful Tea Party movement.

h/t Brian Bollmann

Can you tell me why… …why in the world would I keep my business in St. Louis, Oakland, and Atlanta?  Why would I keep my business in the United States of America?  Why would I subject myself to this kind of abuse after working 16 hours a day for years to improve my lot in life?  Why would I assume that the mayors of these cities will enforce laws that protect me when they won’t enforce the laws that govern the use of their public spaces?  Why would I employ people in these cities when they are in danger of being harassed and injured as they come and go from their places of work?  Why would I endanger my family by living in these cities where I have no assurance that the mayors will prosecute protesters that trespass on my property or injure my family or property?

Why?

I want to take my business to Manchester, Ballwin, and Wentzville… …where Mr. Rainford tells me they enforce their laws.  I want to take my business to another country where me, my family, and my employees will be safe.

I’m the 1%; I have that choice.

Getting Cained

Bill Clinton was accused of rape, sexual assault, and impeached for lying under oath about an affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Liberal Media?  Crickets.

Barack Obama wrote a book in which he admitted using cocaine and marijuana

Liberal Media? Crickets.

Someone leaks to Polit(bur)ico that Herman Cain was accused of sexual harassment in 1992.

Liberal Media? ON FIRE!!

However, to date, no one has identified the larger problem that has surfaced in light of the Herman Cain Sexual Harassment kerfuffle:

Herman Cain - 01

The real problem? No one in Cain’s campaign has enough political prowess to think, This story will come out; we better get in front of it; we better time the release; we better choreograph the response; we can make this work for us.’

No. Mr. Cain’s staff did none of that, and it appears possible that the release of this news came through a supporter of another Republican in the Presidential Primary contest.

How adolescent is Mr. Cain to think that something such as this would not come out?  How juvenile is his staff to not prepare for its broadcast? What other skeletons will jar his campaign?

Sadly, while we really like the straight-talking Cain, he may be ripe for more scandals… …as a third sexual harassment accuser is coming to light.  But, beyond that, his ‘chops‘ continue to be less than impressive.

I am no fan of the politics of this company’s owner.  But, your humble blogger was amused by a design from T-Shirt Hell today:

I may not already hate the next president, but I do hate the fact that I don’t have a good Conservative, well-versed, intelligent candidate to get behind!

Broken Promises – Quick Reminder

Just in case you forgot the long list of promises that The Once, Barack Obama, has broken, here is a reminder from our friends at National Review Online:

Really? Governor Romney has to worry about being attacked for inconsistency by a president who

  • attacked Hillary Clinton for supporting the individual mandate
  • who promised all of the health-care negotiations would be on C-SPAN
  • who said that anyone making less than $250,000 wouldn’t see his taxes raised a dime
  • who now is a fan of recess appointments
  • who pledged to close Guantanamo Bay within one year
  • who pledged to renegotiate NAFTA
  • who pledged a net spending cut
  • who said he would press the Chinese on human rights
  • who said he wouldn’t allow lobbyists to work in his White House
  • who pledged to avoid bringing “the same Washington players” into his administration
  • who promised to post every law on the White House website for five days before signing it
  • who pledged to end the income tax for seniors making less than $50,000
  • who pledged to end no-bid contracts above $25,000
  • who pledged to double federal funding for cancer research
  • who pledged to double the size of the Peace Corps
  • who pledged to double funding for after-school programs
  • who pledged to increase the minimum wage to $9.50 per hour
  • who pledged to support a human mission to the moon by 2020
  • who pledged to establish a term limit for the director of national intelligence
  • who pledged to enact a windfall-profits tax
  • who pledged to create a cap-and-trade system
  • who pledged to recognize the Armenian Genocide
  • who pledged to introduce a comprehensive immigration-reform plan in his first year

To be fair, we know what the core principles of Barack Obama are: blaming corporate-jet owners and ATMS for job losses, shrugging his shoulders at scandals such as Solyndra and Fast and Furious, fundraisers, telling the American people they’ve gone soft, and golf.

One long list of expiration dates here, PolitiFact’s list of Obama’s broken promises can be found here.

To be fair, it is STILL Bush’s Fault!

Son Of Stimulus Tea Party

On October 4th, 2011, President Obama visited St. Louis to raise money and tout his Green Taxpayer Waste Jobs Bill Stimulus II.  He attended a fundraiser at the home of Stimulus I recipient Tom Carnahan – brother of Congressmen Russ Carnahan – who received $107,000,000 from Obama’s first stimulus.

Early in the evening, unhampered by Obama supporters, the evening was a typical respectable gathering of the St. Louis Tea Party:

Bill Hennessy got the Rally going:

.

Jim Hoft picked it up from there:

.

Craig Arnzen from the Mizzou College Republicans joined in on the fun:

.

And Jen Ennenbach, media liaison, batted cleanup:

.

The early part of the night was great… …it went downhill from there!
